You can find your Fiat's Paint Code by looking in the inside of the boot lid or bonnet lid. The code generally appears on a silver sticker or plate and is normally 3 digits long and occasionally is followed by a / and a letter.

How do I apply touch up paint ?

These are easy to apply, firstly make sure your car is clean and dry. Then mix the paint well by shaking the touch up paint for at least one minute. There is a brush attached to the inside of the lid (similar to a nail varnish) apply thin coats of paint either using the brush or an ultra-fine brush / toothpick if the area is very small. For deeper scratches apply a second coat after the first coat has dried. Do not apply too much paint at once as this will cause runs. Let these layers dry thoroughly, the time this takes will vary depending on the weather and temperature (avoid doing this in the rain, as again this will cause runs in the paint work). For best results and to protect the paint you have just applied apply the lacquer over the top, this is a clear topcoat of paint.

How long between coats of paint ?

The time this takes will vary depending on the weather and temperature (avoid doing this in the rain, as again this will cause runs in the paint work), It could be anything from 30mins to 24hours.

Do I need to apply a clear coat afterward?

In most cases, yes. If your touch up paint arrives and has two parts - a colour and clear lacquer, you will need to apply both.

Does your paint come with the clear coat or lacquer ?

Yes most of paints do!

However of the solid colours are single stage paint (this is most common with white, red, black & blue)

All metallic and pearlescent paints do come as a two stage application
